The Sulphur First Baptist Church is focused upon reaching the world through the Acts 1:8 principle. The church designates 18.5% of its budget to missions. In addition the church also has one event yearly to gather financial support for the church planting efforts. The goal of Sulphur First Baptist Church is to present the Gospel to every single person through every available means.
Church Planting
The First Baptist Church began building churches around the country in the early 80’s. Since that time they have traveled from South Carolina, to Wyoming, and from Mexico to Indiana. This of course includes many states in between. A church’s greatness is not found in how many attend, but in how many it sends. Sulphur First Baptist Church is a sending church.
Jerusalem
Our church is not currently planting a church in Sulphur however there are some plans formulating to build a mission work to a specific group of people not currently being reached. When the time is right, the resources are available, and the people are here, the effort will be announced. Be in prayer for this effort.
Judea
Our church is a sponsoring partner with pastor Ryan Abernathy and his congregation, Journey Fellowship in Northwest Oklahoma City to plant a church there. They are currently meeting in an elementary school.
Samaria
Our church is partnering with two different congregations; Conejo Church in Los Angeles California and pastor Rex Holt, as well as Tri-Mountain Community Church in Vancouver Washington and pastor Michael Cooper. These two churches are reaching people for Christ in areas where few (as a percentage of the population) Christians reside.
The World
Our church is currently partnered with two others churches to plant twelve new churches in Togo, West Africa. Twelve pastors have been trained and are currently working to build their churches. Over 50% of the people of Togo follow after animism. In 2008 First Baptist sent a doctor, a dentist, two registered nurses, one pastor and several support personnel to Togo for a ten-day medical mission trip. Literally hundreds were ministered to both physically and spiritually on this trip. There will no doubt be more trips to Togo in the future.

Each of the past two years there have been over 100 volunteers from the church participate in this effort.
