OASIS Youth Ministry

First Baptist Church Sulphur has been known for years as having a vibrant youth program. The youth ministries name is OASIS and theme verse comes from Psalm 63:1 "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water."

OASIS youth ministries is actively reaching and teaching students about the love of Christ in a land where God seems absent at times. We offer tons of activities for student to be involved in. 5th quarters after every home football game, New Year's Eve Bash, DiscipleNow, Guys Retreat, Girls Retreat, The Ringer (incoming 7th grader week), Delta Kappa Sorority, Lunch Bunch every Thursday, Falls Creek, SuperSummer, Mission Trips, OASIS on Wednesday nights, Sunday School, Equip U Sunday night youth Bible Study, Drama Team, OASIS Praise Band and so much more.

Children's Ministry

Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matt 19:14 Jesus in His earthly ministry made it clear that children were important.

Here at First Baptist Church we believe that the training of our children is a priority. We desire to instill into their minds and hearts that God loves them. WE believe that there is no substitute for "bringing them up in the admonition of the Lord."

Our children's ministries include:

*Children's Church for grades K-3             9:30 - 10:15 AM Sunday
*Children's Choir for grades K-6                6:00 -   7:00 PM Sunday
*AWANA for Grades K-6                              6:30 -   8:00 PM Wednesday

We have a children's minister and a loving volunteer staff who work hard to provide a contemporary experience within a biblical framework for our children.

EQUIP UNIVERSITY

At First Baptist Church we desire for our congregation to become fully devoted followers of Christ Jesus. Being a fully devoted follower involves getting to know God and His Word so we have designed a time for believers to gather in small groups to study His Word.

Equip U offers several different classes or groups for our congregation to be a part of. Equip U is in session for 2 semesters each year. The first semester is from the middle of August to late November the second semester is from January to Mid April.

We do not have classes during the Christmas season or during the summer months. The Christmas season brings Sunday night programs focused on the birth of our Savior. The summer months we have what we call Super Summer Sunday Nights. On these nights we strive to bring in guest speakers or programs from all over the area to address specific topics to inform and encourage the body of Christ.

Sunday School 10:20-11:05 AM

A class for everyone! Our small group time on Sunday mornings is a great time to learn God's Word, establish relationships, and enjoy the blessings of being a part of a church family.

We have Sunday School classes for all ages, but more than that we have a Sunday School that is all about meeting you where you are. Our Sunday School has some wonderful teachers who desire to expound the Word of God and minister to your spiritual needs.
